Genie said its new GTH-4017 telehandler was designed for the rental market.

Genie's GTH-4017 SX telehandler, with 17.9 m of maximum height and lift capacity of 4000 kg, is the latest of its special ‘rental' models. Lifting performance also includes 700 kg of capacity at maximum forward reach of 13.3 m.

The machine is 2.32 m wide and 2.44 m high. Its turning radii are 2.42 m inside and 4.65 m outside. Control is by a multi-function 4x1 joystick, and the new ‘inching' function provides close control at low speeds.
A four-section boom makes the GTH-4017 more compact with the boom retracted, as well as making boom movements faster. Smoothing boom movements is a hydraulic accumulator, and a new hydrostatic transmission delivers the power from a 75 kW Tier 3 engine.
Carlo Forini, general manager for the telehandler product range, said the 4017 SX was designed to provide high-quality performance while remaining easy to use; "Genie has also added value by providing a road transfer mode, in which the hydraulic pump allows selection of the right engine power for low-performance work thereby saving fuel".
Features for easier maintenance include an engine compartment that opens wider for better access, engine air intake housings to better protect the battery from contaminants and rain, and a maintenance collar on the boom lift cylinder for safer access between the boom and chassis.
Manufactured in Perugia, Italy, the GTH-4017 SX is now available throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Russia, South America, Australia and parts of Asia.
